Guide to Groups

Welcome to our Guide to Groups webpage at The Carruth Center!

We understand that every child is unique and may benefit from different types of support to thrive. To assist you in finding the right fit for your child’s needs, we offer three specialized groups: Language Development Class, Social Learning Groups, and Empower Hour. Each group is tailored to address specific areas of growth and development. In this guide, you’ll find detailed information on the frequency of sessions, ages served, and the therapeutic modalities incorporated within each group, including speech-language therapy, occupational therapy, music therapy, and mental health support. Our goal is to empower parents with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their child’s journey toward growth and success.

Language Development Class

The class is led by a Speech-Language Pathologist and designed to improve children's skills in the areas of receptive and expressive language, independence, social and play. The group is capped at 6 students and the student to teacher ration is 2:1 or less. LDC uses developmentally appropriate, multi-sensory, play-based activities and incorporates motor lab and music therapy into the children's day. Daily feedback is provided to families and parents may observe their child in the classroom.
