Summer Programs

From our sleep-away camps to our specialized programs for apraxia or handwriting, the Carruth Center offers a wide array of summer camps. In addition to the traditional day camp at The Parish School, Camp Acorn, there are numerous options available to ensure your child can continue to develop and thrive throughout the summer months.

The following summer programs are offered by The Carruth Center:

Kaufman-Apraxia Boot Camp:

A speech-language group therapy program designed to increase speech formulation, automaticity, language content and structure for children who have apraxia of speech or a severe phonological processing disorder.

Camp Super Writers:

A two-week camp utilizing the Handwriting Without Tears® method, which helps develop handwriting skills through multi-sensory, play-based instruction.

Summer Social Club:
Summer Social Club is an opportunity for your child to practice their social competency skills, such as flexible thinking and perspective taking, while attending a theme-based Social Learning group, led by one of our SLPs trained in the Social Thinking methodology. Tackle projects based on fun themes such as construction, gaming or cooking.
Brain Boss:
This multiple-week camp targets executive functioning, where children will learn how to better understand time management skills while working together on chosen group projects.
