The Parish School and The Carruth Center are excited to host the Houston Walk for Apraxia for the third year in a row! We will welcome all the Apraxia All-Stars and their supporters on Saturday, October 19th. The Carruth Center is a platinum sponsor of the event and is honored to be able to support the Apraxia Kids organization. Apraxia Kids provides grants for children’s therapy and for communication devices as well as grants for much needed research in the area of Childhood Apraxia. A few of the activities at the Walk for Apraxia include a train for the children to ride, arts & crafts, games, a silent auction and a DJ! You can sign up to walk on a team for the event or create a team of your own by registering here: Houston Walk for Apraxia Registration. The fun starts at 9:00 AM with the walk occurring at 11:00 AM. If you know of an organization who would like to volunteer for the event they can sign up here Houston Walk for Apraxia Volunteers as many volunteers are needed to make this a fun and successful event.
Last year The Carruth Center entered into a business agreement with Priority MD Billing. This company will help our clients obtain reimbursement from their health insurance for the out-of-network services their child receives from our therapy team. In 2018 it was reported that only about 68% of small company insurance policies offered any out-of-network benefits. Because not all policies will reimburse out-of-network services Priority MD Billing will submit your child’s first month of claims for free. If you choose to continue to use Priority MD Billing after the free trial, they charge a 6% fee. If you are interested in learning more about Priority MD Billing, please contact me or reach out to them directly at info@prioritymdbilling.com.
We hope you enjoy the cooler weather and fall activities that October brings! Please reach out to us at any time if you have questions about the service your child receives with us.
