The Carruth Center provides families with monthly statements they may use to submit for reimbursement to their insurance. Some of our families are able to easily do this successfully while others run into roadblocks and red tape. To assist those families who are interested in off-loading this task, The Carruth Center entered a trial relationship with a company called Priority Medical Billing (PMB) in January. We found PMB to be professional and vigilant at following through with claims. They were responsive to our clients and able to keep families in the loop during each step of the billing process. We have decided to continue our relationship with PMB in hopes it will offer some of our families the ability to get their claims processed without spending large amounts of time dealing with their insurance companies.
Submitting insurance claims can be tricky. Often the insured do not fully understand what the policy covers or what is required before reimbursement can occur. Each insurer has interpreted and implemented CMS policies differently, further complicating billing. This can result in wasted time and frustration.
If you are interested in PMB submitting claims on your behalf, please contact the business owner at rochelle@prioritymdbilling.com. She has a no-risk offer for our families. She will bill a month’s worth of your Carruth Center/Parish School claims at no cost. This is a good way for families to know, without risk, if they will be reimbursed for out of network therapy services. After the first month’s claims are processed, if you would like to continue to work with PMB for claims submission you will pay them 6% of the total billed amount for each claim submitted. We will work with Rochelle at PMB by directly sending her any reports or notes that she needs to submit your claims. After signing an agreement with her, you would only need to send her a copy of your itemized (paid) statements. We hope this will ease the burden of claims submission for our families!
In other news, we had to say good-bye to our SLP and Social Learning Lead Clinician, Kacey Smith, this month. Kacey was at The Carruth Center for 5 ½ years and was beloved by staff and families. We wish Kacey the best in the future at Texas Children’s Hospital and building her own practice in The Woodlands.
We look forward to seeing alumni and past faculty at the Mighty Oak Bash in April! To RSVP to the Mighty Oak Bash, please click here.
